W. Frustrated by poor outcomes and the lack of clinical progress in glioblastoma/malignant brain cancer therapy, he left his neurosurgical training—and subsequently his own biotech company OncoSynergy— in order to scale his impact on human health by evangelizing STEM careers, science communication, and scientist-CEOs. As a scientist, Dr. Carbonell has tackled everything from traumatic brain injury (TBI) to multiple types of cancer to Ebola virus disease and COVID-19.

He currently lives in Brazen House—the first ever biotech launch house—in Los Angeles.
